REDDITCH’S summer street theatre kicks off this Friday, July 27, with fun and frolics in the town centre before heading to Winyates in August.
Join Angie Mack in the town centre for her high energy hula hoop journey through the ages and across the globe with everything from a giant 6ft hoop to a multi-hooping human tower.
Angie will be joined in the town centre by ‘Able Mable’, a chaotic hapless show girl with a warm, effortless charm and funny, heart-warming sense of humour.
She is eager to entertain her captive audience but somehow manages to mess up everything she does with hilarious comic results.
Next month Winyates Shopping Centre will come alive with street theatre for visitors of all ages on Friday, August 10.
Season favourites Bell and Bullock will be bringing their show ‘Cabin Fever’ when the audience can join Captain Bullock and Bosun Bell for maritime mayhem, magic and mirth.
Marvel at the crazy crew with their nautical extravaganza of eccentric experiments, sensational circus skills and hilarious feats of derring-do.
Providing simple pleasure for all ages, Professor Chandler’s Punch and Judy Show is also sure to please as he puts the Crocodile and old Mr Punch up to their usual tricks!
Redditch Borough Councillor Roger Bennett, who is responsible for leisure services, said: “If you’re looking for something to keep everyone out of mischief over the summer holidays, look no further than these events.
“Street theatre is always very popular and provides entertainment for residents of all ages to enjoy so why not bring the whole family along?”
All events will run from 11am until 3pm and also include children’s activities, face painting, displays and demonstrations, circus skills and more.
