BEWARE – The Needle Witch is coming!

Theatre lovers are invited to go along and join festivities this Easter for a fun-filled pantomime production – and it’s all thanks to the National Lottery.

‘The Needlewitch is Coming’ will be staged at RSA Ipsley Academy on Saturday, April 13.

Starring members of the local community and funded by an awards for all grant from the National Lottery, it’s presented by Jestaminute Community Theatre CIC in partnership with Redditch East Aspiring Communities Hub CIC (Reach).

It brought members of the community together at Reach CIC’s base at The Space in Winyates where they have created what is sure to be a stunning pantomime production.

The aim was to work on a project which would be of benefit not only to local residents but to families across the town by providing an opportunity for people to come together and enjoy some good old-fashioned panto banter with lots of laughs, music and dance.

The players, alongside an enthusiastic production team, have been rehearsing since the beginning of the year.

The story is a mash up of familiar pantomime tales such as Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks and the Three Bears with a local twist.

The cast includes Liz Williams, project manager at Reach CIC, who will be taking on the role of ‘Granny Glumlocks’.

Artistic director Andy Higgitt of Jestaminute added: “As a community theatre company we believe that if you give people the time, space, encouragement, and support it is amazing what they can achieve, and this project is no different.

“People have unearthed talents for writing, singing, acting and costume making they never knew they had!”

Performances are at 11am and 2pm on April 13 and tickets are available at The Space in Winyates or on 01527 528340.
