WORKS by well-known composers will be brought to life at St Peter’s Church in Inkberrow on Thursday, August 22 in a special concert celebrating music from the Czech Republic, UK and Finland.

The event falls on the 100th birthday of Frantisek Posta (1919-1991), a revered Czech double bassist, who will be commemorated with an evening of music, wine and snacks.

There will be an hour concert of music by top composers such as Antonin Dvorak – famous for his New World Symphony – and Bedrich Smetana – famous for the Czech nationalist piece Ma Vlast ‘My Land’ .

Bringing the music to life will be David Heyes on double bass, soprano Sarah Poole and Lauretta Bloomer on piano.
