Panto is a real buzz for TV star Dave Benson Phillips

“Nothing beats live theatre – it gives me such a huge buzz” – that’s what this year’s Redditch panto star Dave Benson Phillips had to say about the pending show at the Palace Theatre.

0The actors of this year’s production of Snow White are getting ready to wow audiences this Christmas. and kids’ TV presenter Dave Benson Phillips is excited to be playing panto funny-man Muddles.

“Muddles is full of fun, full of energy – and I’m looking forward to working with the rest of the cast to develop some onstage chemistry so we can give the audience something really special,” he said.

“It can be an electrifying experience to be live onstage and we’re not going to disappoint the people of Redditch.

“Nothing beats theatre. It’s now, it’s immediate, you’re entertaining the people in front of you. You can’t let them down.”

Headlining the classic family pantomime is Britain’s Got Talent winner Jai McDowall, who is set to charm audiences with his powerhouse vocal talents as Snow White’s handsome prince.

Nicole Faraday returns to Redditch as the ultimate panto baddie, the Wicked Queen, and stand-up comedian Andre Vincent stars as the larger than life Dame Dolly.

Actor Paul Winterford plays Herman the Henchman and Naomi Slater takes on the title role in her Redditch debut.

Dave added: “Working for television has a huge buzz – and thinking about the huge audience that you will reach is amazing. But theatre gives me a buzz in a different way. It’s exciting to be able to interact with the audience – and lucky for me, that’s my character’s main job in this production.”

Snow White opens at the Palace Theatre, on December 6, running until December 31.
