Songs of Johnny Cash and June Carter brought to life at the Palace Theatre

Redditch Editorial 23rd Feb, 2019   0

THE authentic sound of the Johnny Cash live show is recreated at the Palace Theatre with Cash and Carter on Thursday, March 14.

Focusing on his unique collaborations with wife June Carter, and backed by a full band playing country, gospel and folk this show, starring Richard Day and Lizzy Rushby will take you back to the great days of the iconic American troubadour.

Featuring images and stories, the show captures the soul of the Cash-Carter legacy with feeling, honesty and humour.

Featuring a set list of the very best their performance includes Folsom Prison Blues, Jackson, Get Rhythm, Carter family bluegrass, and delves into the magnificent American Recordings series, including Hurt, which brought Johnny to a whole new generation of fans.

In fact Richard and Lizzy are so enthrall to those heady days that in homage to the Cash legacy they first performed their Cash and Carter tribute in a UK prison. Touring the UK and beyond in 2018/19, the show is a must for fans of Johnny Cash, June Carter and country music.

Tickets are £18.50 from the box office in person or on 01527 65203 or buy online at www.redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk/.
