Travelling is one of the best hobbies you could have since it manages to blend leisure with education. When you travel, you relax and get a unique opportunity to see and experience things you couldn’t at home. It would be a pity not to enjoy your trip to the maximum and do everything possible to get the most out of it. But since there are so many exciting destinations out there, it can be challenging to focus on just one.
If you’re unsure where to go for your next journey, here’s a list of fantastic destinations you might want to consider.
Greece
The quintessential summer destination, Greece is one of the most popular countries to visit in the entire world. The country is well-known for its fantastic beaches and clear water, so there’s no better place to see if you enjoy spending time by the sea. Make sure to look into Manchester Airport parking before you head out to ensure that you can get the best spot for your vehicle. Since so many people are travelling, you must do all your planning beforehand to guarantee you have a comfortable trip.
Greek hospitality is famous worldwide, so you’ll feel welcome regardless of where you go. There are also numerous landmarks dating back thousands of years ago, making Greece the ideal place for history lovers. The Acropolis of Athens, the Parthenon, the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, and the Akrotiri are just a few of them. The Meteora, holding twenty-four Eastern Orthodox monasteries, of which only six are still inhabited, is an important place for believers. Since the buildings are at the top of enormous rock pillars, it also makes for a visually stunning view.
And, of course, you can’t miss out on the opportunity to sample traditional Greek foods. The horiatiki salad, gyros, eggplant papoutsaki, halva and sokolatopita are bound to be enjoyable even for the pickiest eaters.
Mexico
Mexico is the perfect combination of cosmopolitan cities and ancient ruins. On top of that, it has some of the most spectacular landscapes in the world. There’s the Sonoran Desert, the hottest in all of Mexico. It is home to several native species of birds, insects and reptiles. If you like mountains and volcanoes, you must see Popocatépetl. If you take the Paso de Cortés, you can also visit Iztaccihuatl, a volcano that is now dormant.
Several ancient civilizations lived in the region during Pre-Columbian times, including the Aztecs and Mayans, but also the Toltecs, Olmecs and Zapotecs. You can visit many ancient Mesoamerican sites, so many in fact that you might have to take several trips to discover them all. Teotihuacan is one of the most notable examples, known for its incredible buildings. Notably, it had apartment complexes very similar to modern ones, as they were single-story structures. Moreover, every family that lived there had access to their own courtyard and rooms with patios. The city was also multi-ethnic. The Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon are perhaps the most emblematic buildings in Teotihuacan. The site is easily accessible, only forty kilometres northeast of Mexico City.
And of course, you must sample Mexican food. The country has one of the world’s most diverse and vibrant cuisines. Huevos rancheros, chiles en nogada, mole, barbacoa and tortillas and enchiladas are the most popular. Mexican street food, called antojitos, is also extremely popular, and many say that you need to try it to get a taste of authentic Mexican food.
South Korea
Visiting South Korea has become increasingly more popular over the years due to a rise in interest and appreciation for Korean culture all over the world. The traditional Korean houses, known as hanbok, were first designed during the 14th century. However, remember to be mindful of the residents when you visit.
Seeing the royal palaces is also a must if you visit South Korea. Book your reservations beforehand to ensure you can enter and get a guided tour. You can also dress in the hanbok for the occasion. Some locations offer free entrance if you wear the traditional costume. Dongdaemun Market is a popular place for tourists looking to shop while avoiding the conventional route and stopping by a large mall. You’ll find both retail and wholesale shops here, selling everything from silks to leather goods and clothing, electronic supplies, toys, office supplies and toys. Food counters, fortune tellers and pet shops can also be found at Dongdaemun.
Australia

Tasmania has the cleanest air in the entire world, completely free of any pollution. There are many stunning beaches where you can sunbathe. It is also a natural destination if you love surfing or want to learn it. Just make sure to pick a location that’s more fitting for beginners, like Crescent Head in New South Wales or Currumbin Alley in Gold Coast, Queensland.
You can also go diving at the Great Barrier Reef and visit the numerous wildlife sanctuaries and parks. Australia has an exciting food culture, with a wide range of native fruit such as lilli pillies, quandong, muntries, Illawarra plums, raspberries and riberries.
