Tea, cake and music for Redditch over 60s with Indigo Arts' Mad Hatters

Redditch Editorial 20th Jun, 2018   0

REDDITCH’S very own Indigo Arts are inviting the over 60s to their Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in the KIngfisher Centre this weekend.

Their musicmaker group will be donning costumes from their successful production of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr, earlier this year, and transforming themselves in to those Wonderland characters, ready to serve afternoon tea!

While tucking in to scones, jam and cream, along with a cuppa, entertainment will be provided by the outstanding singing quartet The Violettes, who will perform songs from the Forties to help the party go with a swing!

The Tea Party runs from 2pm to 3.30pm, this Saturday, June 23, in Indigo’s latest pop-up venue, close to Jessops on Walford Walk, in the shopping centre.

It is part of an initiative by Superjam, who are encouraging community Tea Parties for the elderly across Britain, and donate the delicious jam that will be provided on the day.

The parties are an opportunity to get together, socialise and share a bit of community spirit.

Over 60s are welcome to drop in on the day, or if you work with an individual or group that you would like to bring along contact Cathy on [email protected] for further details. There is no payment required.

Musicmaker can also be heard singing in Milward Square on the Saturday morning.
