The quirky side of politics - who gets your vote for......?

WITH THE UK preparing for the general election on July 4, a quirky survey has been carried out on 2,500 Brits to look beyond the policies, manifestos and debates.

According to those quizzed, Boris Johnson has the ‘best hair in politics’ with 45 per cent of the vote, followed by Sir Keir Starmer (20 per cent) and Nicola Sturgeon third.

Nigel Farage topped the poll for ‘best politician to have a beer with’ and was also touted as the person ‘best-equipped to survive on a desert island’.

The best smile award went to Sir Keir who polled 35 per cent with Rishi Sunak finishing second on 30 per cent – the Labour leader will be hoping for a similar result, or even a more comprehensive one, on July 4.

Those questioned also said Sir Keir would make the best superhero and put Jacob Rees-Mogg as the person they would most like to see cast in a reality TV show – he took 40 per cent in that poll.

Unsurprisingly, The Green Party’s Caroline Lucas came top in ‘the politician most people would trust to look after their pet’.

Political Analyst Graham Henderson from freebets.ie, which carried out the poll, said: “This survey showcases the lighter, more human side of our politicians, highlighting their unique personalities beyond the political arena.

“As we head towards the general election, it’s clear Brits appreciate not just the policies, but also the quirks and charm that make each politician memorable.”
