Two great events set to boost the coffers of High Bailiff's charity

TWO events in Alcester are hoping to swell the funds of the High Bailiff’s charity, which gives funds to local good causes.

Something for everyone is promised at a special concert on Friday, August 31.

Songs from the shows will be performed by Alcester Musical Theatre Company while Tex from the Texan Peacocks will take to the stage to do a little bit of rock ‘n’ roll.

There will also be sea shanties and more from Alan Whitbread and Occasional Brass will be laying down a tune or two.

The remarkable flute-playing Sir John Saunders will perform a set while Laurence Cremetti will be putting on some great entertainment too.

This year the High Bailiff is Steve Brown and all money raised will go to help worthy causes in Alcester, from the Scouts to the Christmas lights appeal and Alcester in Bloom, to name a few.

The concert is at St Nicholas Church at 7pm and tickets, including a glass of wine, are £7.50 from Alison Brown on 07763 492821 or [email protected].

To further swell the funds, the following week Alcester Court Leet will be holding its family fun day at the Scouts and Guides Field on Moorfield Road.

It will feature a barbecue and bar, country fete, stalls, rides, the famous jouster horse, face-painting and special guests Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Once again all funds raised will go to the High Bailiff’s charity to benefit the whole community.

It is on Saturday, September 8 and will run from 1pm to 5pm.
