£10,000 reward on offer for information on robberies

Redditch Editorial 21st Dec, 2015 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

A REWARD of £10,000 is on offer in return for information regarding a spate of robberies across Birmingham.

Independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers and the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) are looking for information on a man responsible for 12 robberies across Birmingham and the Black Country.

The crimes have been committed over an eight month period between March 30 and November 26 at nine different supermarkets and convenience stores, taking place anytime between 7.45pm to 10.30pm.

One store was targeted on three separate occasions.

Each incident saw a man armed with a black handgun approach the tills, threaten staff and force them to hand over cash before escaping.

Police have released CCTV images of two individuals they would like to speak to.

Roger Critchell, director of operations for Crimestoppers, said: “Serial offenders like this need to be stopped before they create anymore distress and fear to innocent shop workers.

“The fact this individual has threatened staff with a weapon indicates he does not care who he harms.”
