A COMMUNITY-BASED organisation in south Warwickshire is looking for good causes to receive its funds.
Alcester and Bidford Rotary seeks applications from individuals and organisations that require financial support in the B49 and B50 postcode areas.
Each year the group raises thousands of pounds with popular events like the Alcester and Bidford Big Breakfasts and stalls at local festivals.
It recently distributed £2,000 to groups including Alcester Dementia Cafe, NHS charities in south Warwickshire, Bidford Youth Club, and the community library in Bidford.
President Nigel Curtis explained: “We are keen to help where there is a specific requirement and especially where our contribution will make a real difference to a group or individual.
“Obviously, we can’t promise to help everyone and are talking hundreds not thousands of pounds, but we currently have approximately £3,000 to share.
“We just need a brief explanation of the cause, how any donation would specifically be spent, and how much is required.”
Nigel also pointed out that Alcester and Bidford Rotary is an active club and welcomes new members of all ages, to help at fundraising events and enjoy its social activities.
“We have two breakfast meetings a month and two early evening meetings which means everyone can usually attend at least one or two meetings, but we are very informal and understand we all lead busy lives and do what we can, when we can,” Nigel added.
