17-year-old girl seriously injured in off-road motorbike hit and run in Redditch

A TEENAGER was seriously injured after being hit by an off-road motorbike in Redditch before it was ridden off.

The collision happened around 8.15pm yesterday (Monday) when the 17-year-old girl was walking along the pavement on Alcester Street.

The girl suffered suffered serious and potentially life-changing injuries and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

The motorbike, which was a white ‘pit bike’ with black wheels and a loud exhaust, had a passenger on the back.

Police believe the passenger could have also suffered injuries but both the rider and the passenger fled the scene following the crash.

Officers are appealing for the rider and the passenger to ‘do the right thing’ and come forward.




A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said they were called to the incident around 8.18pm.

“We sent an ambulance to the scene where, on arrival, crews found a teenage girl who they treated for serious injuries before conveying her to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.”
