JAM tarts, chocolate rolls and battenburg were the stars of the show when Redditch based Carers Careline held a 1960s tea party.

The event, one of 50 events as part of the So Redditch Festival to celebrate 50 years of Redditch new town, also included a quiz, 60s music and raffle with prizes donated by local businesses.

Organiser Wendy Pickford said: “It was really well attended by our carers and the feedback was excellent. It brought us all together to enjoy the things we remembered from the 1960s especially the cakes!”

The charity will be collecting from 10am to 4pm outside Sainsburys tomorrow (Saturday) and Barclays has agreed to match the cash collected.
