A 24-HOUR challenge organised by the local branch of Jump Rope UK has collected a bumper sum for charity.
The team tackled the marathon treadmill event from 5pm on March 24 to 5pm the next day in aid of Red Nose Day last month at Arrow Valley Health Club, and after weeks of chasing up sponsorship have managed to bring in an amazing £1,000 for the good cause.
Rachael Dale from Jump rope UK said: “The treadmill did not stop for 24-hours.
“It was 10 minute slots per person and you could have as many slots as you wanted.”
It was a fundraiser for both Red Nose Day and Jump Rope UK, and managed to raise £1,000 for each, totaling £2,000.
Barclays Bank were also involved as they matched the funds, pound for pound, to help reach the total.
