MORE THAN 30 firefighters battled a blaze at a factory in Redditch for three hours last night (Wednesday, January 9).

Three crews from Redditch, one from Bromsgrove and two from West Midlands Fire Service were joined by four fire officers, an aerial ladder platform from Worcester and a command support unit from Malvern.

The fire service was called to the blaze on the Moons Moat North Industrial Estate at 8.30pm and the fire was not completely extinguished until 11.14pm.

Station Commander Jon Laight praised those who attended and said on Twitter: “Crews saved the local business with some professional and swift firefighting.”

Firefighters damped down the area afterwards and are still on the scene now.
