VOLUNTEERS from Redditch Labour Party picked up their peelers and spoons to prepare, cook and deliver 300 hot meals for residents across the borough.
Now in its 13th year this has become a solid tradition providing hot food and Christmas cheer.
Coun Bill Hartnett (Church Hill) took control in the kitchen, co-ordinating the browning of meat and the boiling of vegetables resulting in a delicious hotpot with carrots and peas.
Redditch Labour leader, Coun Joe Baker (Batchley and Brockhill), said “I am really proud of our members and volunteers who worked really hard to do this for our residents.
“Redditch Labour is a family, and we look after our wider community donating our time and energy to provide this every year. We care about Redditch and we hope we have made a difference over the festive period.”
Redditch Labour Party wants to thank friends and members for donating cash to fund this project, Morrisons supermarket for a gift voucher and St Andrews Church for allowing the use of its kitchen and premises on Christmas Eve.
