A MILESTONE year for the Rowney Green Horticulture Society show prompted a wonderful turnout and a wide array of colourful creativity.
The 75th annual show was held at the Peace Hall last weekend and offered entrants a chance to display their talents and wares, from home-grown plants, to exotic flower displays and paintings.
The judges chose winners in 94 categories, including plants, fruit, vegetables, arts and crafts, and baking, with one young entrant, Arthur Trotter, coming away with several prizes for his creative work. A special cup was awarded to the entrant with the most points overall, and all the awards were presented by special guest Satnam Rana from BBC Midlands Today.
Organisers deemed the turnout ‘excellent’, and the array of entries in a wide variety of colours, shapes and sizes were enjoyed by all.
A spokesperson for the society said: “It was good to see such both older and young people entering into the spirit of things. The cut flower displays were quite breathtaking, and the paintings were very beautiful. The talent on show was very impressive and we would like to thank all who attended.”
