RESIDENTS are asked to dig out their old shoulder pads for a 1980s reunion.

The event will take place at Fever in the town centre on Sunday, December 21, in a bid to reunite those who used to go there when it was known as the Wine Bar.

From 10pm until 3am anyone who hit the dance floor to listen to jazz funk and would meet at the old palm trees in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, is invited to take a trip down memory lane and catch up with old faces.

DJ Darren Bernstein will also be back at the venue playing hits, while there will be a picture board with old photos.

Organiser Lisa Davies said the idea came to her after meeting up with friends who reminisced about the nights they had out 30 years ago.

She said: “People are travelling from as far as Germany, Canada, Isle of Wight, London and many more places because the word has got around so fast.

“I’ve spoken to people via Facebook and Twitter for the first time in 30 years, the response I have got has been really overwhelming, everyone seems to want to catch up and have a good old dance like old times.”
