A MAJOR litter pick in Matchborough collected a massive 45 bags of rubbish on Saturday.
The cross party initiative, which was supported by local people plus Redditch Police, Christ Church, Noah’s Ark Nursery, Matchborough First School, McDonalds and RSA Academy Arrow Vale, saw community-minded folk roll up their sleeves and get to work smartening the appearance of the district centre.
The event coincided with the monthly litter pick by Christ Church and despite the occasional downpour the volunteers made a major impact on the centre.
“All in all I think it was a pretty good event,” said a tired but happy Councillor Juliet Brunner.
