STUDENTS from Studley High School were out in force on Saturday doing their bit to raise poppy sales as Remembrance Sunday nears.
The Year 10 youngsters took up strategic posts at places popular with shoppers and at the war memorial where their efforts were supported and appreciated by villagers keen to remember this fallen.
“We were offered the opportunity to help and it just seemed the right thing to do,” said William Newman, aged 15.
“It’s really important that we remember those who lost their lives fighting for this country.”
Kevan Skidmore, who helped organise the day added: “We are all getting older and felt it was vital to get the youngsters involved and we have been absolutely delighted with the way they have responded. They are a credit to the village and to the high school.”
