OFFICERS from the Court Leet in Alcester are preparing for a flipping good time next week as the town hosts its annual Pancake Day races.
To celebrate Shrove Tuesday (February 28), people of all ages are invited to battle it out in the race on Alcester High Street, flipping their pancakes to reach the finish line.
Children and adults will begin the race near the post office, while toddlers will start at the half-way point – and other organisations and businesses, including the town’s pubs, will also be tackling the route.
The winners of the race, which kicks off at 12.30pm, will be presented with prizes from the Court Leet’s High Bailiff Ian Whitehead at St Nicholas’ Church, with prizes including chocolate Easter eggs, lollies, cash and certificates.
