A fond farewell to Redditch headteacher as she retires this summer

Redditch Editorial 22nd Jul, 2017   0

PUPILS staff and parents of Webheath Academy Primary School have been saying a fond farewell to head teacher Christine Millward as she retires this summer.

Mrs Millward has spent 11 years as head at Webheath and more than 30 years in teaching and was treated to a special send off on Tuesday.

Children took part in an activity morning where they experienced Christine’s favourite hobbies including rugby, golf and a horse riding dance.

A special assembly was held in the afternoon with invited guests including past pupils who shared their memories.

Parents too joined in the celebrations later with an afternoon tea party.

Assistand head Lydia Webster said: “Mrs Millward will be greatly missed by everyone at Webheath Academy and we wish her a long and happy retirement and a well earned rest!”
