A FOND farewell was bid to a well-liked Redditch teacher as she stepped down from her role after 23 years.
Sue Ashworth came to Roman Way First School for a day of supply teaching – and never left.
Teaching youngsters all the way through from Reception class up to Year 4, Mrs Ashworth has been a popular and familiar face to multiple generations of children.
She also mentored many budding teachers at the school.
A spokesperson for the school said: “She will be greatly missed by all the staff and children. Sue’s happy and broad smile will be a loss to all at Roman Way First School.”
In the last week of term, the pupils gave her a good send off and waved her off to retirement in style.
