POLICE carried out checks on taxis in Redditch to test whether they were roadworthy.
The examinations were undertaken on Thursday by officers from Worcestershire Operational Patrol Unit with Worcestershire Regulatory Services.
Of the eight cars checked, three were found to have defective tyres which led to the drivers being reported.
One driver was prevented from using his vehicle such was the condition that a prohibition order was served.
Another vehicle’s licence was suspended under taxi licensing regulations.
