HOSPICES across Worcestershire have joined forces to host two sophisticated social events in support of a national charity campaign.
Primrose Hospice, St Richard’s Hospice and KEMP Hospice have organised a corporate breakfast and lunch at the Chateau Impney, near Droitwich, during Hospice Care Week this October.
Each event features a famous guest speaker and is part of The Big Get Together – a campaign which encourages friends, families and colleagues to hold fundraising events for local hospice care.
Kate Kelly of Primrose Hospice in Bromsgrove, said: “The team at Primrose are delighted to be working alongside their hospice counterparts across Worcestershire on this joint initiative.
“Each event is aimed at different audiences and gives the community the opportunity to attend a great get together with a fabulous guest speaker in an amazing venue, while supporting their local hospices.”
The first event, a corporate breakfast, is on Tuesday, October 10 at 8am when yelevision presenter and lawyer Margaret Mountford, formerly of The Apprentice, will be guest speaker before hosting a Q&A session after breakfast.
The lunch will be held on Thursday, October 12 at 1pm. Following a two-course meal, Philip Serrell – auctioneer and television personality, who regularly appears on shows such as Bargain Hunt, Antiques Road Trip and Flog It! – will give a talk.
Money raised from each event will be split evenly between the three hospices which together cared for more than 4,638 patients, their families and bereaved people free of charge last year.
Hospice Care Week runs from Monday, October 9 to Sunday, October 15, however Big Get Together events can be held throughout the year.
