Adult learners from Worcestershire raise cash for Brain tumour charity

Redditch Editorial 27th Dec, 2019   0

ADULT learners from Worcestershire have raised more than £500 for The Brain Tumour Charity.

The Worcestershire Adult Learning Team organised a Christmas Fair event after being inspired by Redditch member, Nikki, who recently underwent an operation to remove her brain tumour.

Learners made and sold craft items at County Hall earlier this week, giving 25 per cent of all proceeds to the charity.

Worcestershire County Council’s cabinet member with responsibility for communities, Councillor Lucy Hodgson, said: “Our adult learners have worked hard this year to increase their skills and it’s wonderful to see all the gifts and crafts they created.

“Adult learning changes lives and raising this money is a truly fantastic way to end the year.”

The Adult Learning Team, operated by the council, provides people with an opportunity to develop their personal skills, build their confidence and help them set up a new business or start a new career.
