Redditch Editorial 13th Jun, 2019   0

ADVICE on rain and flooding has been issued in Redditch after a heavy downpour overnight.

Drainage, water management and highways specialists have been out dealing with known problem locations.

Highways teams from Worcestershire County Council were working throughout the night.

Some local Redditch roads and individual properties have been reported as affected by flooding, with Padgets Lane and Moons Moat both reporting local floods.

As of 10.30am this morning, the overall flood risk in the area was assessed by the Flood Forecasting Centre as “low” for rivers and “very low” for surface water, with minor surface water flooding impacts possible.

Sue Hanley, deputy chief executive of Redditch Borough Council, said: “All the agencies are mobilised and working.

“If you spot a problem, please call it in to us.

“A small number of individual homes were affected and we’re supporting them.”

If you spot any flooding issues you can report them to Redditch Borough Council on 01527 881188.
