THE Studley Isolation Support Group has been wound up with the easing of lockdown.

In all volunteers worked for 482 days throughout the pandemic helping those less fortunate than themselves in the village and beyond.

In that time 5,665 tasks were completed, including collecting shopping, medicines, dog walks and more.

There was chat calls to those isolating and help calls too, daily checks on the vulnerable, and escorts to hospitals, PPE was sewn and 3-D face shields printed.

A contact phone donated by Studley Parish Council saw residents Hayley Maher clock up 80 days, Jennifer Stone 61, Ruth Jewell 52, Amy Thomas 28, Claire Lancaster 23, Samantha Evans 17, and Hayley Farnell 13.

Stand out efforts by volunteers include Ann Marshall and Diane Dutton who took over the bulk of the pharmacy runs, Lyn Sharpe who did 1,715 acts of kindness, including delivering two Christmas dinners on Christmas Day.

Super cyclist Kate Sykes clocked up the miles on her bike with 537 tasks under her belt.

“There were many, many more, some of whom completed many tasks, some who were only able to help out with a few,” said Ruth Jewell from the group.

“It didn’t matter how many were completed, what was important was that tasks were undertaken, and our community was supported.

“We thought we would need the group for 21 days, in the end we clocked up 482! Thank you to those who will continue to support those they have formed friendships with, you are amazing.”
