ALCESTER and Bidford Rotary are celebrating after a year of fund-raising for a number of charities.
The group donated mulled wine and warm mince pies to the crowds who turned out on a chilly night for the Alcester Christmas lights switch-on.
They also supported the return of St Nicholas’ Night in Alcester.
This annual event came to an abrupt halt with the Covid pandemic but Rotary welcomed it back with the Santa’s Grotto, his elves and gifts for the youngsters.
The ‘grown-ups’ were kept warm the mulled wine and mince pies and mpre than £700 was raised in support of Rotary’s End Polio Now campaign.
The next event will be the Rotary Youth Speaks competition on February 7, followed by the March Big Charity Breakfasts at the Crawford Hall in Bidford on March 2 and at the Greig Hall in Alcester on March 9.
