AN ALCESTER bride is ‘feeling fabulous’ after going from a size 24 wedding dress to size 12 in just over a year.
Amy Vick joined the Alcester Slimming World group in May 2017 and says she hasn’t looked back since.
“I joined because I wanted to feel my very best on my wedding day,” said Amy.
She managed to shed more than four stone before marrying long-time partner Greg during August 2018.
“When you’re overweight it can be hard to feel confident,” said Amy, “So getting to my target weight felt fantastic.
“The support I’ve had from everyone is the driving force behind my weight loss.
“Without their care, compassion and encouragement, I really don’t think I’d be where I am now.”
Amy started her weight loss journey by switching up her diet and concentrating on healthy eating.
She said: “I was expecting to have to cut back on all my favorite foods in the build up to the wedding but it has been the complete opposite.”
Amy still eats pasta, jacket potatoes, curries and chips and says sometimes she even has a glass or two of wine.
“I also found the confidence to start exercising,” said Amy.
