Alcester choir spreads joy through music in care homes

A CHOIR is hoping to spread joy through music in local care homes.

Alcester Male Voice Choir is donating a cd of its songs for free, which members hope residents will enjoy at a time they cannot have live entertainment.

The cd features songs throughout the years which choir founder Judith Land says will appeal to all.

She told our sister paper the Stratford Observer: “We are aware music is so important in a care home setting, and our recordings include a wide variety of songs which appeal to all musical tastes. Many of the songs residents will know and we hope that they will bring back happy memories.

“We appreciate this is just a tiny gesture compared with what is going on in care homes at the moment and residents can no longer enjoy live entertainment, but if we can somehow help to bring a little cheer to residents, then we are happy to do so.”
