Alcester Council gets its skates on with park

Redditch Editorial 10th Jun, 2016 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

ALCESTER Town Council has taken ownership of the completed skate park on Jubilee Fields.

The skate park has been a project close to the heart of the council with support from Alcester Youth Council and an official opening is planned for the end of the month.

Skateboarding is rated as the third most popular recreational activity for youngsters aged six to 18 and many of Alcester’s young adults who would have grown up with the previous skate park and who are now parents may find that their interest rekindled as their children get into it.

Users are asked to be the custodians of the park and with a zero-tolerance policy towards graffiti or damage culprits are likely to face prosecution for criminal damage.

Anyone witnessing damage to the park should call police on 101 or the council on 01789 766084.
