A FASHION show of pre-loved clothes in Alcester has netted more than £3,000 for good causes.

A glamourous group of local ladies hit the catwalk to strut their stuff in a range of designer outfits at a packed Greig Hall earlier this month.

Their efforts helped to raise funds for the Shakespeare Hospice, Alcester in Bloom, ROS1 Cancer research and St Nicholas’ Church.

Attendees enjoyed a welcome glass of fizz on arrival and a shared a deli board supper including cold meats, bread and cheeses.

A range of second-hand accessories including hats and shoes were also for sale during the event and after the show guests got their pick of show garments at bargain prices.

Organiser Mary Nash, who started putting on the shows in 2007, said: “The Alcester Festival fashion shows have always been enjoyable events and this particular show exceeded our expectations.

“The beautiful Greig Hall was a perfect location, the fabulous audience and our hardworking team ensured a glorious evening which benefited the charities, the audience and all the volunteers.”

Mary told the Standard she was looking forward to planning the next show on May 10, 2025, which will show off summer fashion.

Refreshments will include an afternoon tea.
