ALCESTER Food Festival, due to take place this Saturday (October 21) has been called off by organisers due to potentially unsafe weather conditions.
A spokesperson for the event said: “On the advice of our insurance company, Eventmen and the Met Office, it is with regret that the Alcester Food Festival has to be cancelled due to predicted gusts of wind of well over 25mph, which exceeds the safe limit.
“As organisers we have a duty of care to all our stallholders and visitors and it has been decided that the risks are too high to hold the event.
“This decision has not been taken lightly. We thank you all for your support and hope to see you on May 19th next year.”
