ALCESTER Male Voice Choir is heading for the Kingfisher Shopping Centre as part of a major recruitment drive.

The top class ensemble. which has sung at some of the most prestigious venues in the country, including Windsor Castle, will be in Redditch from 11am to 2.30pm on Saturday, September 14.

It’s all in preparation for an open evening back at the Jubilee Centre in St Faiths Road, in Alcester when potential recruits can come along.

Judith Land BEM, founder of Alcester Male Voice Choir and Director of Music said: “Joining a choir is good for you.

“There are numerous benefits from improved health and wellbeing to the joy of learning something new, making new friends and a sense of achievement when after working hard to learn new songs you get to perform them in a concert.”

Judith, who lives in Redditch, has been at the helm of the choir for more than 45 years.

“The Alcester Male Voice Choir is a community choir and is open to gentlemen of all ages and of all musical ability,” she added.

“There are no auditions, but I believe everyone can sing.

“I understand how hard it is to come along and join a well established group, but new members are made very welcome and you will find that once you join us its a natural learning curve with no pressure.

“We accept new members at anytime of the year, but the open evening is a wonderful opportunity for gentlemen who are interested to come along, listen to the choir, join in if they wish and chat to our members.”

Anyone interested in joining can call Judith on 07886 139781.
