A SCHOOL in Alcester has launched a new year seven hub, a dedicated space designed to support pupils as they transition from primary to secondary education.
St Benedict’s Catholic High School has invested in the refurbishment of a standalone building exclusively for its year seven cohort.
The school said the result is a carefully designed, nurturing space that provides a structured and supportive introduction to secondary school life.
The hub includes dedicated home classrooms, a learning resource centre, and science laboratories.
The school said the hub also places a strong emphasis on pupils’ social and emotional development.
The pupils will benefit from access to their own canteen and a wide range of enrichment opportunities, making use of facilities such as the school’s cinema, dance studio, chapel, roof prayer garden, and outdoor sports fields.
To celebrate the opening of the new hub, the school is hosting will host a launch evening on Wednesday February 5, inviting year five and six pupils and their families to explore the newly refurbished spaces and find out more about how the hub supports a positive and confident transition to secondary education.
Principal Claire Paddock said: “We are delighted with the space we have developed to support this crucial stage of learning.
“We believe St Benedict’s offers the perfect environment for pupils to move into secondary education with confidence, feeling supported, secure, and ready to thrive.”
