AN ALCESTER Scout group have raised over £500 for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
1st Alcester Scout leader, Austin Tovey has challenged the scouts to go 24 hours without their mobile phones.
Their parents and loved ones sponsored the children, and raised £550 for the charity.
To make the challenge fun, Austin arranged for the scouts to have an activity day.
They started with a trip to the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford and a night hike over the Malvern Hills.
Austin said: “It was a great day, and we’re pleased with the amount of money we raised.
“It was lovely to get outdoors, and the kids enjoyed the day without their phones.”
