Alcester student awarded bursary to support his studies at Cambridge

ALCESTER Grammar School’s Dylan Shearsby is one of 15 exceptional West Midlands students to have been awarded an OCR bursary to support him with his studies at the University of Cambridge.

The scheme assists those who took their A Levels at the region’s schools and colleges with recipients receiving £3,000 for each year of their undergraduate studies.

The cash can be used for living and tuition costs and has been awarded to a high number of students this year.

The OCR bursary scheme is now in its 19th year with winners chosen for their academic achievement, potential, resilience and positive impact on others.

OCR Chief Executive, Jill Duffy said they were thrilled by the rich pool of highly talented and hardworking students across the West Midlands.

“It’s hugely rewarding for us at OCR to play a small part in helping these impressive young people with our bursaries.”

Applications for OCR’s bursary scheme will reopen in spring next year.
