Alex hospital staff urged to apply for parking permit

Redditch Editorial 21st Sep, 2023   0

STAFF at the Alexandra Hospital are being urged to apply for a parking permit, to prevent parking on residential roads.

Coun Emma Marshall, ward councillor for Arrow Valley West has been in talks with Scott Dickinson from Worcestershire NHS Trust on multiple occasions to work with the hospital on parking solutions.

She said: “I discussed staff parking as the majority of cars parking in the residential areas are from hospital staff.

“The Trust has kept staff parking free for staff since the pandemic and want to encourage staff who haven’t already got a permit to apply for one so that they can park for free on site.”

Additional double yellows have been installed at the top of Nine Days Lane to improve safety and soon there will be additional double yellows on Woodrow South near the entrance to again improve the safety of the junction.

Coun Marshall added: “My hope is that these changes along with drivers parking considerately the residents in Wirehill and Woodrow South will see an improvement.”
