All in a day's work as HoW students apply the greasepaint to 'casualties'

HEART of Worcestershire College’s Level 3 theatrical and media make-up students recently attended a, ‘Autumn Leaves’ training event for the emergency services at Kidderminster Hospital.

The exercise held by Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) was designed to challenge the firefighters skills.

And the students threw themselves into the exercise producing some stunningly realistic effects on the ‘casualties’.

Lecturer Gail Tyrer said: “I was very proud of them, the work they produced, and professionalism was exemplary, a credit to HoW College.”

HWFRS, group commander Rob Allen added: “The exercise was made all the more realistic due to the detailed and convincing injuries produced by the students.

“We hope that we can continue to collaborate with the course and college in the future to provide experience and learning opportunities for all.”
