All longest stay moggie Sally wants for Christmas is a home for the new year

THE longest stay cat at an adoption centre in Birmingham has transformed from “cranky to cuddly” and now the chatty girl needs a loving home of her own lined up in time for the new year.

Black-and-white Sally has been in care for eight months, she was nervous and defensive when she arrived at Cats Protection’s centre in Hollywood back in April.

The 11-year-old was initially known for her spiky personality but after settling into her new routine and learning to trust people once more, she now greets volunteers and staff with a joyful quiver of her tail and cheerful meows.

The team at the centre are keen to find her a home as soon as possible so that she can spend time settling into her new home in time for the new year.

Adoption centre deputy manager Paula Beswick said: “Like many of us, Sally can be unsure of changes to her environment. However, once she settles she really shows her affectionate side and reveals herself to be a loving cat who enjoys spending time with you and will even have a chat once she has come out of her shell.

“We can’t think of a better way to start 2022 than with Sally settled and enjoying life with her own special owner once more.”

Volunteers and staff at the centre feel Sally will be best suited to a home without children and where she can be the only pet.

They are seeking an experienced owner who has previously lived with cats who need time to settle in at their own pace.
