HEART of Worcestershire College’s (HoW College), Level 3 Public Services students in Redditch built up a sweat last week as they received a visit from the Royal Navy.
Students spent the day completing tasks that tested both their physical and mental boundaries.
They took part in numerous military physical, communication and team building activities giving them an insight into Navy life.
The Navy also delivered a ‘shipshape’ presentation about the potential career routes available to the students once they leave college.
Talking about the experience, Level 3 Public Services student, Luke Churchill, said: “The day was a fun and enjoyable experience. During the activities the Navy split us into groups which gave us the opportunity to work with new people and create new friendships. I thoroughly enjoyed the day.”
Royal Marine, Rhys Price, added: “The students worked really hard and showed a real commitment to each tasks we gave them – even the push-ups! I hope the day has given them a taste for Navy life and we will be seeing them at some point in the future!”
