All smiles as Redditch nursery celebrates 10th anniversary

Redditch Editorial 2nd Aug, 2024   0

A REDDITCH day nursery has been celebrating 10 years of providing childcare for babies and children aged between three months and five years.

Astwood Smiles Nursery and Pre-School opened its doors in the summer of 2014, following a full renovation of former pub and Astwood Bank landmark – The Coach House.

Celebrations within nursery have been taking place this week with daily themed activities, finishing with a nursery party today (Friday, July 26). The children created all party decorations using recycled materials ahead of their exciting week.

Olivia Waters, Astwood Smiles’ nursery director said: “We are so proud to be celebrating 10 years of Astwood Smiles.

“Having grown up in Astwood Bank, it was a dream to be able to create a nursery within my local community that offered everything that I was looking for when my children were of nursery age.”

She added the team of qualified and experienced nursery staff worked together to create a secure and friendly environment with plenty of stimulation.

Olivia added: “Looking back at all the children who have passed through our nursery, we feel privileged to be the first stage of their educational journey – giving them the best start in life ready for their transition to school.”

She said none of the past 10 years would have been possible without ‘their fantastic team’.

“Manager Alison has been with the nursery since day one and is key in the success of the nursery, not to mention all our lovely families for their support and kind comments. We look forward to exciting plans in the future – here’s to the next 10 years.”

The nursery sponsors the Astwood Bank Carnival and regularly gets involved with community projects and charity events.

The nursery recently took part in their own Pink Ribbon Walk around Astwood Bank to fundraise for Breast Cancer Now charity.

Children also get to visit local allotments and parks to find out more about the environment and Astwood Smiles will plant an oak tree in their local green space to commemorate 10 years’ service to the community, proving from little acorns, mighty oak trees grow.
