HOUSEBUILDER Taylor Wimpey is backing a group of amateur footballers as they prepare to take on a squad of legends in a match to raise money for a mental health charity.
The Football in Mind team will take on a Peter Withe XI, comprising former professional players from Aston Villa, Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion, at Redditch United’s Trico Stadium on Sunday, June 2, 2019.
The match has been organised by Richard Waite, Damien Triplett and Damien Perry to raise money for Mind, the mental health charity.
Matthew Preston, who works for Taylor Wimpey, will join the amateur team and the housebuilder has also funded a training kit for the players.
Gates open at midday on June 2 with entertainment, food and drink on offer ahead of the match, which kicks off at 3pm.
Tickets are £7 for adults, £5 concessions and under-16s, and free for children under three.
