REDDITCH’S historic St Peter’s Church in Ipsley Church Lane is throwing its doors wide open to celebrate the bell tower.
From 10am until 4pm on Saturday, September 13, people can pop in and explore the historic building and the churchyard as part of Heritage Open Day.
The bells will be rung during the day and in between the ringing there will be opportunities for people to go up to the ringing chamber.
There will be experienced bell ringers around all day to answer questions.
Visitors will be able to take a tour of the church and explain some its history going back to Saxon times.
Inside the church are three interesting depictions of St Peter – on a stained glass window, a stunning banner and an etched glass doorway.
Visitors will be encouraged to view the different images and to learn more the life and legacy of Peter, one of the 12 disciples and a fisherman.
