All welcome to pick up a bat and join rounders tournament in Redditch

Correspondent 11th Sep, 2018

EVERYONE in Redditch is invited to sign up for a rounders tournament in Stitch Meadow next week.

On Saturday, September 22 from 10am until 12pm, visitors to Arrow Valley Park can take part in the tournament with teams of nine or more people.

Children aged 12 and over are welcome to attend and play too.

Interested groups need to register their teams with the council’s Sports Development Team in advance.

Individuals that would like to play but don’t have a team will be assigned one once registered.

Call 01527 534008 or email sd@bromsgroveandredditch.gov.uk, or arrive before 10am to register on the day.

Friends and family members who do not wish to take part are more than welcome to watch and cheer the players on.

Councillor Mike Rouse, whose portfolio covers Leisure and Cultural Services, said: “Most people can get involved in a game of rounders, no matter what their age.

“It’s fun, active and social. Whether you’re playing for fun or you have a competitive streak, bring a team along to have a go.”

For more information, contact the Sports Development Team on 01527 534008 or email sd@bromsgroveandredditch.gov.uk.
