Alvechurch Middle School student launches her own slime-making business

Redditch Editorial 31st Jan, 2018   0

A YOUNG entrepreneur who attends Alvechurch Middle School has set up her own slime business as the new Worldwide children’s craze expands in popularity.

Kate Holland, who is 12 and lives in Barnt Green, loved to experiment with lotions and potions and took to YouTube in a bid to find out how to make the most sublime slime.

And, after a whole year of practice, she was finally happy with her mixture and enlisted her family and friends as her first customers.

She was then able to move on to selling her slime at car boot sales all around the West Midlands under her mango.slimeeee brand. She chose the name as mango is her favourite fruit.

Kate said: “Getting up at 5am at the weekend was hard but I loved meeting new Slimeeee fans and having my friends come back to support me each week was so nice.”

Last September Kate started holding events where she raised money for charities, helped local schools and at Christmas fairs.

Her biggest event so far was the fireworks festival at Ragley Hall in Alcester.

Kate makes a huge variety of slimes in many different textures, colours and scents.

All of her creations are hand-made and made to order at home and each pot arrives with a printed care card which tells the buyer what is in their slime pot and how to care for it.

2018 brings a lot of new ventures for Kate and mango.slimeeee as she has had her first confirmed booking for a slime party in Wolverhampton. She is believed to be the first person in the UK to hold such an event.

She is also looking to run two-hour slime-making Workshops at her home during the February half-term, which runs from February 19 to 23.
