AN ALVECHURH mum of two who left teaching in lockdown to follow her passions is celebrating the expansion of her business.

Sarah Deacon’s company, The Bay Tree sells hand poured soy wax candles, melts, diffusers and wreaths, and she has now opened The Bay Tree Florals, making bespoke headbands and hair accessories for new-born photography.

Sarah credits her achievement to the support she received from a networking group she joined at the beginning of he business venture.

“I couldn’t have done this without The Gin & Pickles Network group and Zoe who runs it.

“Through joining the group I’ve met with likeminded female entrepreneurs and gain support and advice in an industry that I’m is still new to.”

Zoe Pawelczyk, who owns deli Gin & Pickles, set up the female entrepreneur network this year which now supports over 26 woman in the village and surrounding area.

Local photographer, Antje Farmer, uses some of Sarah’s floral headbands in her photoshoots and takes professional photographs of her products to use on social media and her website.

Sarah added: “Life is too short to be stuck in a job that makes you unhappy, you need to do what you love and love what you do”.
