AN elderly woman has passed away after being hit by a car in Redditch on Wednesday (November 22)

At around 4.25pm on Wednesday a red Ford Focus was being driven along Colts Lane when it hit the 89-year-old pedestrian.

The woman, who had recently got off a number 62 bus, suffered multiple injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken by road to QE Hospital, Birmingham. Sadly she passed away a short time later with family members at her side.

Sergeant Lee Baker from the Operations Patrol Unit is leading the investigation and said “I would like to express my condolences to the family at this difficult time.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision and in particular passengers on the number 62 bus, on which the woman was a passenger immediately prior to the collision.”
