WITH spring well on its way, Redditch residents are urged to give local wildlife a helping hand as animals of all shapes and sizes begin to wake from their winter slumber.
The town’s Pets at Home is inviting animal-lovers to pop into their Trafford Retail Park store this weekend to learn how they can turn their garden into a local wildlife haven.
The team, led by Peter Burrell, will focus on a common garden guest – the hedgehog. Hedgehogs love nothing more than to shelter in a pile of leaves or compost so the team will be giving advice on making gardens more inviting for them and the benefits of giving lawn mowers a break.
Longer grass can provide a sanctuary for all manner of insects, moths and minibeasts.
All animal-lovers, and their pets, are invited to Pets at Home Redditch on Saturday (February 27) and Monday (February 29) between 12 noon and 1pm.
